Alpha Phi President

Abstract of Project
For my edge project I am using my term as President of the Alpha Phi Fraternity. As President I will spend 20 hours a week meeting with members, holding planning meetings, managing budgets, and executing events.

Larger Purpose
Being president of Alpha Phi will help me build skills that will improve my personal and professional life, those skills include:
Communication
Budgeting
Event planning
Management of a large number of people
Emotional support
Goal setting
Networking
Leadership techniques


Project Goal
For my EDGE project I will finish my term as the President of the Alpha Phi Fraternity.

1-3 Outcome(s)
If I can effectively complete my term as President, Then I will have gained skills that will help me own my own business one day.
I will have gained skills to lead and communicate effectively.

Deliverable(s)
I will provide sign-in sheets for all the meetings I attend with members of Alpha Phi. I will also hand in any fliers, advertisements, or promotions for events I have planned for the Alpha Phi Fraternity.

Differentiation
Only 300 people internationally have the opportunity to be president of an Alpha Ahi Chapter each year, this is a prestigious group. Along with that, being President gives me a unique opportunity to manage, lead, and advise a large number of my peers.

Estimated Costs
The cost associated with this project are minimal. The largest cost is the time I put into being president. On average I work 20 hours a week doing things for Alpha Phi. I often use my computer to fill out forms for the fraternity and take notes at meetings. Since I am using my computer the cost of wifi should be factored into that as well.

Estimated Timeline
Start date: March 1, 2016, this is the day I was elected into office.
End date: November 9, 2016, this is the date of elections for the new President of Alpha Phi.
Every week from March till November I will be spending on average of 20 hours in meetings, budgeting, and executing events for Alpha Phi.
