Wait what is a Bordeaux Bo?

Every Alpha Phi Chapter has some kind of "big brother" that is there for the chapter to help out and help represent the chapter and our letters and all that good stuff. Some go by heart throb, ivy man, king of hearts, big bear... etc the list goes on forever. Ours is called Bordeaux Bo and can I tell you they have been some one the most incredible people you will ever meet. They have a chance to read a letter to the chapter during recruitment and i hope this gives you a glimpse of what it is and how amazing they are.

To My Sisters,

Sisters, You have impressed me with the refined class and dignity while philanthropically serving the global, national, and local community. You ladies hold a very high caliber of character, while bearing and utilizing established moral compasses. With our Values being Service, Sisterhood, Scholarship, Leadership, Loyalty and Character Development, I know these values could not be held in any better of hands than those of my phis. With my firm foundation and beliefs running parallel to that of the chapters, I am constantly in awe of the ability my sisters have to uphold and promote themselves as well as our chapter and what we stand for. I have witnessed the development such an organization provides through the growth of a few of my close friends and sisters. The changes I’ve seen have opened my eyes more fully to the power a sisterhood bears. It blows my mind the light which is lit in the eyes of our sisters while simply passing in the halls or the excitement felt when reunited after time apart. These sisters, these relationships are not a semester long, not 4 years long, & not only your time here at SUU long… these relationships and the sisterhood are life long. The honor I have to call each and everyone of you remarkable ladies my sister, my friends and many, my heros, is a privilege that only one in this position can possibly feel. The unity I feel with the sisters I have gained through this remarkable organization is a special feeling to me, one that I can happily express as love I

have for my own blooded sisters. Early this morning, I received unfortunate news of the passing of a dear loved one, the support and love that I have felt from my sisters has been an overwhelming blessing. I am consistently seeing the endless acts of service and love from this organization. Sisters, we have such a solid support group within this Sorority, keep it up, & know the impact you are having on people's lives is a beautiful thing. I recognize and publicly appreciate you all and how much you have helped me not only today but since becoming your brother months ago. Getting involved with this organization has been the best choice I have ever made.

To My Potential New Sisters,

Something which I have been truly impressed with, is my sister's ability to lead by example while maximizing the skill sets of new members, this has been a refreshing aspect that Alpha Phi exercises. We all are transformable and equipped with maximizable skills. I know that these sisters of mine have already had a life changing impact on me. I know joining this organization and even more so, the Theta Sigma Chapter here at SUU will truly be life changing. Where I was a few short months ago to scale of where I am now blows my mind and I can truly say that these ladies have played a major role in my personal growth. Each of these remarkable individuals have had an impact on my life. A Smile from Kate, Lattes from Gina, squeezes from nina ,Notes from little Mo, legal council from Potter & tight hugs from LO…. Near or Far sisters, look to the stars sisters, The big dipper is there..with AOE & love in the Air.

Ladies, listen... Each of you has a beauty and a strength that needs to be shared, I know this because so many of you have shared these things with me. I encourage you share these attributes with others in hope that you can alter one's personal direction as you have mine. The direction I was heading has be rerouted by the friendships formed in the springtime of my youth by the incredible women of this organization. My heart is full with a love I have for my existing sisters, I cannot wait to extend this powerful love to the new sisters we will receive. As your Bordeaux Beau and even more you brother, I promise to uphold, promote, and exemplify my duties by joining this union hand in hand and continuing to wholesomely contribute my all to Alpha Phi and the Theta Sigma Chapter.
